How an acquisition works in practice
Process, not contract · Written terms before anything proceeds
Specification · At a glance
The short version
Six facts that hold true for every acquisition, before any of the detail below.
- How it starts
- An enquiry, not a checkout.
- Who you contract with
- APEX VAULT as principal, or a disclosed third party where APEX VAULT acts as broker.
- What is fixed in writing
- Route, parties, fees, payment method and delivery, before anything proceeds.
- Payment
- Bank transfer, and independent escrow where appropriate and agreed. No physical cash.
- Inspection
- Independent examination where appropriate and agreed for that specific transaction.
- Obligation
- None until written terms are issued and accepted by you.
The shape of a transaction
A shared core, then the route it needs
Five stages are common to every enquiry. What happens within them depends on whether APEX VAULT is acting as principal, as a disclosed broker, or purely as an adviser.
01
Enquire
You describe the requirement. A reference beginning AV- is issued.
02
Discuss
A person follows up directly and asks what matters.
03
Assess
The watch, the documentation and what cannot be established are reviewed.
04
Agree
Route, contracting parties, fees, payment and delivery are set out in writing.
05
Complete
The agreed payment route and transfer are arranged for that transaction.
Branch
As principal
Assessment and agreement are between you and APEX VAULT alone. Completion follows the agreed payment route.
Branch
As disclosed broker
A third party enters at assessment. Commission and responsibilities are disclosed before agreement.
Branch
As adviser
The sequence may end at Discuss or Assess. There is no obligation to reach agreement at all.
The first two stages are the same whoever you are and whatever you want. Everything after that is shaped by the specific watch and the agreed route — no two transactions are assumed to be identical.

01 — Before you commit
Nothing here is binding. No terms are agreed and no payment is arranged.
Enquiry
Every acquisition begins with an enquiry rather than a checkout. You describe what you are looking for, receive a reference beginning AV-, and a person follows up directly.
- No public inventory, and no online checkout.
- Every enquiry is reviewed personally.
02 — Sourcing and assessment
The requirement and the specific watch are considered before a route is proposed.
Sourcing
Where a watch is not immediately available, APEX VAULT approaches known owners, trusted trade contacts and private networks.
- Nothing is advertised publicly on your behalf.
- Availability turns on reference, condition, provenance and documentation.
- You are given an honest view of how realistic a requirement is, rather than a fixed timescale.
Assessment
A watch is considered using the piece itself, the available documentation and specialist information. The precise process depends on the individual watch and the agreed transaction. APEX VAULT does not operate an automated valuation service.
- Considered by a person, not scored by software.
- No automated or instant valuation is offered.
Condition
Case, dial, bracelet and movement are described plainly, including previous polishing, replacement parts or servicing where these are known. Where something cannot be established, that is stated rather than glossed over.
03 — Documentation and inspection
Evidence is read for what it can establish, with uncertainty stated plainly.
Documentation
Box, papers, service records and supporting paperwork are reviewed where available, and what each does or does not evidence is explained.
- A full set is not a guarantee on its own.
- Its absence does not disqualify a watch.
Provenance
Ownership history is considered where it can reasonably be established. Assumptions are not presented as facts, and unknown history is described as unknown.
Independent inspection
For higher-value purchases, the watch may be examined by a suitably qualified independent watchmaker before completion.
- Arranged where appropriate and agreed for that transaction; not a universal promise.
- An inspection reports the condition observed on the day.
- It is not a guarantee, an insurance product, or the manufacturer's own view.
04 — Roles, parties and fees
The route, the parties and the money are fixed in writing before anything proceeds.
Terms and who you contract with
Some watches are acquired directly by APEX VAULT, while others are sourced from, or sold on behalf of, third-party owners. The arrangement, the contracting parties, any fees and the relevant terms are explained before you commit.
- APEX VAULT may act as principal, as a disclosed broker, or as an adviser.
- Remuneration may come from one or both parties.
- Who pays what is disclosed and agreed in writing beforehand.
05 — Payment and delivery
The agreed route determines how money moves and how the watch is transferred.
Payment
Where appropriate and confirmed for the specific transaction, APEX VAULT can arrange an Escrow.com transaction so funds are held by the independent escrow provider and released in line with the agreed terms.
- Bank transfer, or independent escrow where agreed. No physical cash.
- APEX VAULT is not an escrow provider and does not hold buyer funds for third-party purchases.
- No payment is ever requested through this website, and never by unsolicited message.
- No payment is collected through this website. If you receive new or changed payment instructions, verify them with APEX VAULT using a contact number you already know before sending funds.
Delivery
Delivery arrangements are agreed for each acquisition. Insured delivery may be arranged where suitable cover is available and confirmed for the specific watch, value, route and carrier.
06 — Warranty, cancellation and communication
What applies after agreement, and what remains open to you afterwards.
Warranty and service
Any warranty, guarantee or service commitment is identified in the applicable transaction terms. Manufacturer warranties, seller warranties and APEX VAULT commitments are separate and must not be treated as interchangeable.
Cancellation, returns and remedies
Cancellation, returns and remedies depend on the transaction type, contracting seller, method of purchase and applicable law. The relevant terms are provided before a purchase is completed. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Communication
You have a single point of contact throughout, and updates are given by your preferred method even when there is nothing new to report. Questions are welcome at any stage, before or after a purchase.

Who you deal with
How APEX VAULT acts
The single most important thing to establish before any money moves is who is contracting with whom.
Two parties only. The watch sits on APEX VAULT's side of the line, and your contract is with APEX VAULT.
Principal: Two parties only. The watch sits on APEX VAULT's side of the line, and your contract is with APEX VAULT. You: You deal with APEX VAULT directly, and your contract is with APEX VAULT alone. APEX VAULT: APEX VAULT is the principal: it owns the watch, or is buying it directly from you. The watch: The watch sits on APEX VAULT's side of the transaction.
- APEX VAULT's position
- APEX VAULT owns the watch, or is buying it directly from you.
- You contract with
- APEX VAULT
- Fees
- No separate commission. The agreed price is the price.
Which of the three applies is established during the conversation, and the contracting parties and any fees are confirmed in writing before anything proceeds. Purchase information sets out the mechanics in full.
